Kentucky Derby
5/3/2007
As you may be aware, the Kentucky horsemen abruptly refused to give their consent required under federal law last week for Choctaw Racing to receive races at Churchill Downs. This includes the Kentucky Derby. Choctaw Racing is accused of not contributing to Oklahoma horsemen. This is blatantly false. Choctaw has met every lawful financial requirement to the Oklahoma racing industry and much more. Last year, we paid $600,000 to three groups in Oklahoma which included horsemen. We have paid all we can pay and remain in business. However, today a Kentucky court denied our application for an injunction ordering that consent be given. We will be unable to provide the Kentucky Derby at the OTB's we service, which we very much regret. However we continue to carry services from other tracks and appreciate your support. CRS has done a lot for the racing industry and will continue to support the industry as well as its customers. We apologize to our patrons and thank them for their patience.
Thank you,
James Dry
